The stolen funds are benefiting criminals across the globe, enabling their operations and harming innocent individuals.
Wire fraud is a serious and growing threat that can compromise any transaction, whether you're wiring money to a trusted company like World Title or even a familiar retailer like Macy's. Criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and they exploit every communication channel, phone, text, or even mail—to gain access to your financial transactions.
Here’s the hard truth: Your transaction could be compromised at any point. These criminals monitor and wait until the last step when you're ready to wire the money. That’s when they strike by sending fraudulent wiring instructions, hoping you won’t notice until it’s too late.
After falling victim to such a scam myself, I’ve realized there’s one surefire way to minimize your risk. While nothing can be guaranteed, this method can help you stay as safe as possible:
By taking this extra step, you eliminate the chance of falling victim to fraudulent wiring instructions sent by criminals who have infiltrated the transaction. This simple yet powerful precaution ensures that you’re verifying directly with the trusted source, not a potential fraudster.
Wire fraud thrives on complacency. By staying vigilant and verifying every step, you can protect your hard-earned money and prevent criminals from succeeding. Share this advice with your friends, family, and colleagues to help stop wire fraud in its tracks!
I am a victim of wire fraud in the amount of $248,599.00 that happened at the end of 2024. This was caused by Business Email Compromise (BEC) – learn more here.

Every year, 785,000 complaints are filed with the FBI about wire fraud, costing people billions of dollars. The root of this issue is a simple flaw in our banking system:
Banks can accept wire transfers even if the beneficiary's name doesn’t match the account number.
Fraudsters exploit this loophole by tricking people into wiring money into fraudulent accounts.
We don’t need years of legislative changes to fix this. A single Executive Order from the President can end this nightmare with one simple rule:
"No bank in the U.S., whether federally or state-chartered, may accept or send a wire transfer unless the account number and beneficiary's name match."
This straightforward change would stop fraudsters in their tracks and protect countless Americans.
Our banks have let us down once again. I am now seeking recovery of my lost funds, along with thousands of other victims. Victims of the banking system. The banks only have one duty to us as customers: they should have verified and ensured that they knew where and to whom they were sending our money—to a Beneficiary. Our intent was to wire money to the Beneficiary. All the banks had to do was confirm the account number matched the Beneficiary's name where they were sending the money.
We want to claw back and recover those funds. The banks had one simple responsibility to protect our money, and they failed to do it. Now, they are going to be held accountable for it.
WFPA is going to work on this both publicly and in the courts.
This matter will now be handled by the advocates at WFPA.US. Together, we aim to recover what is rightfully ours and bring justice for all victims of wire fraud and banking negligence.
